On May 16, 2006, the 16th Annual Math Fair and Math Olympics took place at NJIT. Mrs. Gadepalli was the adviser for the Math Fair Project and also the Math Olympics with the assistance of  Ms. Sanjai, Mr. Tamburini and Mr. Tonero, who helped with the Math Olympics. Many of the Math Club students participated.

This years’ Math Fair topic was “The Mathematics of Probability” for which Mrs. Gadepalli and her students organized two projects. One project was “HSPA Results Survey, Mathematics of Probability” and the other was “Animal Rescue Mission (Robotic Trials).” Because of these projects, West Side has won the Exemplary Award for a group project under Mrs. Gadepalli’s guidance for three consecutive years.

In the Math Olympics, West Side placed 4th in Pre-calculus and also Calculus. Out of the five categories (Algebra I and II, Geometry Pre-Calculus, and Calculus) they entered.  Overall those who participated in the Math Fair and also the Math Olympics did a great job.

Mrs. Gadepalli would like to give special thanks to her team members, Ashley Howard, Marché Turner, Karmarie Gonzalez, Henry Morel, Aneudy Castano and other members  who worked very hard under her guidance for the Math Fair.  She would also like to give special thanks to Ms. Sanjai, Mr. Tonero, and Mr. Tamburini for coaching students who particitipated in the Math Olympics. Finally, she would also like to give another special thanks to Mrs. Hutton and Ms. Moselle for their help
