Mrs. S. Shirland, Advisor

Goals and Objectives:

Established in 1937, the goal of the Future Educators Club is to expose students to the opportunities available in the field of teaching, to cultivate the abilities essential in a good teacher, to reveal various trends, techniques, phases of education, and to foster the development of student leadership.  The Future Educators of America Club gives students interested in becoming teachers the opportunity to assist teachers and students in the classroom setting.

Students Benefit:

Future Educators is a club that strives to produce an interest in students in the fields of education, early in their school experience.  The club places a strong emphasis on recruitment of students with diverse ethnic, social, and economic backgrounds.  The club also promotes excellence in students interested in the teaching profession by promoting academic achievement, developing a positive self-image, and encouraging leadership responsibilities.

The School and Community Benefits:

This club also gives out a positive image of education to students, parents and the community.  It will disseminate information about the teaching profession.  Our goal is also to enhance the quality of the school's educational program by fostering an appreciation for teaching and contributing to the smooth operation of the school.  Future Educators encourage members to be positive role models in the school, organization and the community.

Who Should Join:

Membership is open to any student who is interested in teaching, coaching, or related youth work and who has high standards of character, scholarship and leadership.
